One reason why I think this is because when i learned he plays creature and caverns by himself. Whenever he is alone or has the chance to play he always plays. The problem is that, when he plays he isn't learning any social skills. This is true because he can't make any friends or doesn't know how to have conversation. This one reason why I think that Perry is struggling with not having any social skills.
Another reason why i think this is because Perry parents are making Perry attend a camp where they believe that Perry will become a man. Unfortunately Perry has no interest in going to the camp. Perry begged his family that he has no interest in going. Unfortunately, Perry had to go and also Perry learned that he will be at the camp for eight weeks. The quote " we feel you'd grow more as a person as a man by going to the camp." This quote shows us that because he lacks social skill and the only thing he does is play creatures and caverns shows us that his parents are concern about what he will become when he grows up. This shows us that Perry is struggling with not having any social skills.
Overall I think the theme for the protagonist would be, Perry struggling with not having any social skills. I think Perry's mind and how he thinks is pretty cool. The only thing he has to work on is making friends and learn to have a conversation that has nothing to do with creatures and caverns.
i liked how you introduced the story in the first paragraph and how you supported your reasons with the text :)
ReplyDeletei liked the way you retold the story and used lots of supporting details. I also liked the way you organized your paragraphs, they are very neat.
